Community rules and privacy

The SNF2000 message board is a place to talk about games, computer builds, retro computing, hobbies, and everyday interests. Welcome new members, help each other out, and make room for different experiences.

Taking part

  • Treat other members respectfully. No harassment, threats, impersonation or disclosure of somebody else's private information.
  • Choose a suitable category, explain your question, and credit sources when sharing information.
  • Do not post spam, malicious links, credentials or material you do not have permission to share.
  • Use the report action when a post, private message or chat message needs attention. Authorized moderators and administrators can review reports. Reporting private content shares the reported content and relevant context with those reviewers.

Who can see what you share

Public boards can be read by visitors. Other boards are limited to signed-in members or named groups. Check the board's audience before posting. Your username, display name, avatar and profile information may be visible to other people; your account email address is not displayed on the board.

Private conversations are limited to their current participants. Group chat channels are limited to their permitted members. Attachments follow the access rules of their discussion or message. People who can read something can still copy or share it, so avoid posting sensitive information.

Accounts and moderation

Verify your email before posting. Moderators act within their assigned areas; administrators manage the community. Staff can close or reorganize discussions, hide content, review reports, and restrict accounts. Hiding content does not immediately erase the stored record. Edits, reports and moderation decisions can be retained for review.

Your security settings support stronger sign-in protection and revoking account access. Keep passwords, recovery codes and API tokens private.

Email and notifications

Your email address is used for verification and password recovery through the site's configured email provider. Community update emails and daily or weekly digests are optional and can be changed in email preferences. Joining the board does not subscribe you to the newsletter.

Community update emails contain links rather than private discussion text. When reply by email is available, sign in to review and confirm your reply before it is published. Email attachments are not imported. Optional browser notifications require your permission and contain a generic activity notice.

Your data

Account settings let you request an export of your own accessible contributions and personal records, or close your account after confirming your identity. Exports exclude other members' private messages and confidential moderation evidence. Download links expire and stop working if access changes.

Closing your account removes profile and sign-in details while retaining contributions under a former-member identity so conversations remain understandable. Information included in your posts, messages or earlier edits may still remain. Temporary records and backups have separate retention schedules.

Sign-in uses a session cookie. The board does not add email open or click tracking, online-presence counters or remote images inside member posts. Security limits and operational records help prevent abuse and keep the service working.
